This Halloween party, was so simple for me to put together. I really wanted to be able to enjoy my guests and play with Lucia and her friends instead of being stuck in the kitchen the whole time. Here are some recipes and tips about the food I served. I hope it inspires you to throw a simple Halloween Party for kids! See the original postby clicking here.
1 can of crescent rolls
8 hot dogs, cut into half horizontally (I used skinless for the kids)
dijon mustard for dipping
This really couldn't be any simpler. Unroll the cresecnt dough but do not tear on the vertical perforations. Break dough into 4 rectangles. Slice each section of dough into thin strips. Wrap a few strands of the dough around each half of the hot dog to mimic a mummy wrap. Bake according to package directions and serve with dijon mustard for dipping.
Dark Fruit Platter
Artfully arrange dark colored fruit on an unexpected platter like a quiche plate! I used a pommegranate (a big hit with the older kids), black berries, and grapes!
Spicy Deviled Eggs
6 hard boiled eggs
Sirracha (or other red hot sauce)
paprika (for garnish)
poppy seeds (for garnish)
Slice the hard boiled eggs in half, lengthwise. Gently scoop out the yolks into a bowl. Add mayonnaise, dijon mustard, and salt to taste and mash together with a fork. Add Sirracha depending on how spicy you want them. Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and poppy seeds.
