Brunch Above Seattle

Alex and I belong to a club that sits 76 floors above downtown Seattle. As you can imagine, it has the most incredible views. Day or night, there is always something special to see and a new perspective to enjoy of a city I've lived in for almost 5 years now. During the holidays, our club held a Santa Claus brunch and we signed right up!

Lucia was dressed up in her Ralph Lauren plaid dress from her Great-Grammy. My sister and I love it so much and wish it came in our size! Here she is in the lobby of the building before brunch.

I love it when she lets me sneak a bow in her hair. It looks so sweet! As soon as she discovers it, she tears it out. My goal was to make it through the picture with Santa... and we made it!

The brunch buffet was fantastic. We feasted on fresh seafood and enjoyed a raw oyster bar (not me, I was 5 days from my due date!). There was a beautiful rainbow of fruit, dreamy pastries, a crêpe station, a roast beef carving station, and salads and sides galore. Chef even put out a children's buffet with cheesy scrambled eggs, chicken strips, and French fries in child friendly serving stations and surrounded with little gifts for the kids. Lucia liked the coloring book but opted for the adult's seafood station instead.

She truly loves her "shrimps"!

For dessert, Lucia was enamored with the chocolate fountain and kept going back for more

I opted for a nice array of delicious and beautiful treats (I was 39 weeks pregnant, I deserved it!)

The views from our table were amazing.

The waterfront and The Great Wheel. When I first moved here 5 years ago, the Ferris wheel was in its very beginning stages.

Downtown, Queen Anne, and Magnolia

The Space Needle, breath-taking

Lake Union

Across Elliott Bay to Alki with the Puget Sound and Vashon Island in the background

We are so fortunate to live in a place where these views exist. Watching my daughter enjoy the view from up high made me appreciate the newness that a toddler must encounter daily. We could all learn a lesson and take a step back (or up in this case!) with fresh eyes, to gain a new outlook on and appreciation of our surroundings.
